Purpose & Context:
The capabilities of Corporate Centre Finance & Accounting function has a direct impact on the achievement of the company’s strategic objectives and its performance in line with Stakeholders’ requirements. As a result, it is very important to have clear visibility of our Finance & Accounting skills to ensure that the employees in the department are appropriately empowered to play their role. This skills survey was designed to help us identify existing skills, strengths and the gaps we need to fill through training or recruitment.

With this in mind we would like you to help us complete this survey, as a honest assessment of your skills and in order to help us identify your training needs. The result of this survey will be shared with the ED/CFO of UAC.

STEP 1: Please type in your name and designation on the cover page STEP 2: We have set out below the information that we aim to capture on each sheet. There are 8 assessment areas in all on 8 worksheets. On each worksheet, under the Assessment column, please select the option that best describes you from the drop down options. Please see a description of each option to the right of the assessment column. Below is a brief description of each assessment category. There are 4-11 statements of each category and the entire assessment will take about 5 – 10 minutes to complete.

An overview of your perspective on your job description

3. Financial & Management Accounting
Your experience and skills in financial accounting and an estimate of the percentage of your time spent on transaction processing
An overview of your Management Accounting experience and skills, including knowledge of Budgeting, Cost Management, Project Costing, Project appraisal, etc.

4. Financial Reporting
An overview of your experience and skills in Financial Reporting including knowledge and experience in application of International Financial Reporting Standards and local reporting requirements of various stakeholders

5. Treasury Management
An overview of your experience and skills in core Treasury Management, including working capital management, investment appraisal, funding needs assessment, funding options, design of financial strategy, negotiating skills, etc.

6. Technology
Your experience and skills in use of accounting software and data management

7. Tax Management
Your experience and skills in Tax Management including VAT, WHT, PAYE and Company Income Tax. Knowledge of Transfer Pricing and other tax efficiency/tax savings opportunities

8. Process Improvement
Knowledge and skills in identification and implementation of finance and accounting process improvement opportunities
